Packed and Loose Inventory

If you want to see our e-Learning video on Adding a Loose Shipment, click this icon Editing Tickets .

When you purchase material, it is likely to be loose. This means you're purchasing the material the customer brings in as-is. They may just pile copper into a container that you weigh or they may arrive towing a vehicle. Weigh the material and pay the customer.

You likely store like inventory in a specific location. To store it, you may package the material into bales, on pallets, into boxes, etc. Once you package the material it is known as a "pack".

Some inventory, in particular, ferrous material may remain loose. That means that when you sell the inventory, it will be loaded into a container or on a truck and sold that way. This inventory is called "loose".
