Reports Templates: Create and Use Reports Templates

The reports template feature allows you to save the report parameters. Creating templates for your most used reports will save time since you won’t have to select the parameters again. This screen shows the report is printed for the truck station drawer daily and that it is for the main yard. When you run a report, the default parameters are the settings used the last time you ran the report. Scrap Dragon automatically reruns the same report even if you don’t create a template. However, if you plan to run the same report repeatedly, it is efficient to create a template with those report’s settings.

Here is an example of the Summary of Scale Purchases report screens.

Touch Save Template and a screen opens where you can give the template a name. Each template name must be unique.

Later, when you return to the report to reprint you will find the saved template.

After selecting the template, the screen changes to show the template parameters. When the report is generated to display on the screen, it looks like this.

Another Example Reports Templates

In this example you’ll see the creation of an Inventory Valuation Report template. The screen shows the report parameters: quick date is set to month, inventory report is for Copper, sales values will be displayed and the report is a consolidated yard report.

Once you’ve chosen the parameters touch Save Template.

When you run the report, this is how it looks.
