There may be times when allocating the truck weight as a percentage of the load makes sense. Enter the weights and change the radio button to Use Weights as Percentage of Truckload to calculate the commodities as a percentage of the load. SDX now has a button.
When a load arrives, you may or may not know whether the load contains one or many commodities, or the weight to assign to each. Select the scale using the radio button (shown in the screen below), and then, instead of using the individual commodity weights, use the Truck Weight button and allocate weights by a percentage of the load. This also has the advantage of requiring the customer to unload once in the yard. Get the gross weight and hold the ticket. After the truck returns empty, open the held ticket and add the Tare Weight.
Add all the commodities that were on the load to the ticket. Weights are assigned in Edit Details, where you can allocate the weights by a percentage. This example shows that all commodities have been allocated. Notice the Allocated Percentage shows 100 and Unallocated Percentage shows 0. If that were not the case, the percentages would be shown in red. They turn green when all percentages are allocated against the commodities.

Add the item to inventory and print the inventory tag.
When Make Equal is touched, the percentages are allocated equally among all items. In this case, #1 Steel and Dirty Cast Iron each are allocated at 33%, while 304 Stainless is at 34% so the total is 100%.
