In order to keep the system up to date and running quickly it is suggested that you update the inventory once it is more than 2 months behind the current date. A warning pop-up is displayed on every inventory related screen when the inventory month falls behind. To avoid these pop-ups inventory must be rolled over to the next month in the system.

To roll the old inventory month to the current month you must perform an inventory roll.

Inventory Roll

1. Touch Inventory > Roll Inventory.
2. If you have negative inventory or negative cost you will have to correct these inventory items with adjustments or movements from other inventory before you are allowed to roll the month. There is a correction work screen to help you do that. Once all corrections are made, you will be able to roll the month for that yard.
3. Select the yard you would like to roll. Touch Roll Inventory. The process may take a while depending on the number of transactions, inventory items, and adjustments for that yard.

Note: Pre-roll inventory is also available on this screen if users would like to recalculate all inventory related transactions for that yard. This may be done periodically to keep inventory up to date throughout the month, as inventory updating is run in the background and can be interrupted when Scrap Dragon is closed, connection to the server is lost or there is a rare application crash. Pre-rolling inventory before rolling inventory is not necessary.
